Since I’ve started writing book reviews for self-published/indie authors, I thought it would be a good idea to highlight the books that are scheduled for the month! Check back for book reviews every Friday and sometimes a random one thrown in if I read additional to the list!
While not self published, this month I am SO excited for Adam Silvera’s newest release. If you haven’t read his other books, go read them and then pre-order They Both Die at The End!!
Title: Child of Humanity by Alyse N. Steves
Genre: Young Adult Science Fiction
Rating on Amazon: 4.7 out of 5 stars
My name was Allyson Owens. It isn’t anymore, but it was back then. I was a daughter. I was a sister. Most importantly, I was supposed to be a friend.
By the time I realized that I wasn’t, it was too late.
This is the story of how we not only failed those we swore to protect, but how, in our darkest moments, when we fell into shadows that we couldn’t see, we had to be shown the light.
This is not a story to be repeated. I ask that you make certain it never is.

But when a year of preparation for her debut vanishes in the blink of an eye, Rose flees her gilded cage in search of unrestrained adventure.

Rose and Robert do not meet when their eyes lock across a ballroom swathed in candlelight. They do not meet amid fine clothes, genteel manners, debonair charm, and chaperones. They meet, alone, upon Rose’s near death. It is this near-death experience that catapults the two nobles, disguised as servants, towards a romance that seems destined for failure.
They think they know each other. But when their true identities are revealed at a house party, will they live happily ever after or will the ton be shocked to see a lady run?
